Smugglers are bringing people from troubled African countries to Europe and now the EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini has pleaded for UN help to dismantle these criminal groups that are smuggling migrants into the European Union. More than 1,800 migrants have died in the Mediterranean in 2015 because of this smuggling.

Do you think dismantling these groups will help with the smuggling problem? Do you think that the European nations are obligated to help these people though?
I think that dismantling these groups will lead to a lack of organization, which will overall help ending the smuggling problem. I don't think European nation are obligated to help these people, but it would probably be beneficial if they did.
it may help but their is no way to know for sure. if it were me i personally dont think i would try to get into other countries buisness but europe can do whatever they please
A smuggling group is an illegal operation. Nothing the EU, a government entity, does will affect their proceedings. This being said, I do believe that the EU has a responsibility to accept these immigrants as to end the necessity of smuggler groups. If the EU were to begin acceptance of immigrants, illegal activities will rapidly decrease. The EU has made promises to benefit the world as a whole- stopping the spread of communism, eradicating poverty, providing medical care to those who do not have access-and that promise is more important now than ever. These immigrants are desperate for another chance at life, and it's time the EU gave them that chance.
I don't think that the EU can successfully end the smuggling operations. If they try to do so, it will most likely make the journey more dangerous and result in the deaths of more immigrants. The EU does have responsibility to help and accept these immigrants.
I think that European nations do have an obligation to help. It's incredibly inhumane to just leave people on the streets and watch them all die. Regardless of whether they are citizens, people have rights and liberties that should never be denied.
