So Valentine's Day is of course coming up on Saturday. This is a holiday that plenty of people love to hate, but whatever your feelings about the day itself, I would imagine we can all agree that taking time out to be mindful of people you love, whether romantically or friend-ily or famil-ly, is a good thing. Also nice to think about STUFF you love...Valentine's Day is as much an occasion of chocolate as an occasion of romance :).
Feel-good movies are often referred to as "valentines." So in that spirit, what's a SOMETHING that's a valentine for you? Something that always makes you feel great?
And, in case you are super curious about the history and evolution of the day, there's lots of info here :) : http://www.history.com/topics/valentines-day

My "valentine" thing would be just chocolate and maybe flowers chocolate makes everyone feel better and flowers smell good so they could make you have a good day, also being with my boyfriend would make a good valentines day.
My favorite non-human valentines, in no particular order:
* FREE TIME (of which I have so exceptionally little, that when I do have it, it's like Thanksgiving dinner AND double dessert :) )
* Sleeping in (ditto)
* A new book from a favorite author
* Or really any great book :)
* A day at the beach
* Time with friends (my friends are obvs human valentines, but I don't get to see them as much as I wish I did, so that time together is precious to me, too)
* The kind of laughing you do with your funniest allies where you're half-falling over and you can't exactly breathe...best feeling ever :).
* Food. Because food.
* Picking food or flowers from the garden and eating/displaying them :)
* VOTING
* Sitting in an audience or on a sideline or just in my living room watching the MiniCavs do anything.
* First day of summer
* And the first day of school :) . Even after these many years, I never stop getting excited to start a new year
* A new pack of really good pens or markers
* The Sunday night of a three-day weekend

My "valentine" would be old classic films by my favorite actors like Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Audrey Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart. I also love to share time with my family and closest friends and letting them know that I care, especially on February 14th .
My Valentines Day will be spent with my family and friends and im gonna get them chocolate and flowers and show them how much they mean to me bc its important to remind people how much you love them(:
watching South Park; getting lost in my art; going to museums; laughing really hard with a full stomach; enjoying musicals; and listening/ loudly singing music from the 1940s- some 1990s- mostly Bobby Vee (:
My Valentine would be FOOD! Also bring with the people I love, doing something new, going to Mrs. Cav's class, taking pictures, getting dressed up, ball is life, making other people laugh.
