There is no real sound way to keep people from joining or helping ISIS. The best way would be to spread the truth about ISIS and the harm and damage they cause. The world needs to see the threat they pose and the danger that they are. people need to be informed so they do not grow in numbers
I agree with Derek. We need to spread the reality of what ISIS is doing to civilians. I don'[t believe there is a single way we can prevent people from helping ISIS. The best way for us to stop support is by advertising them in a negative way. Regardless of what may be said, we need a wild fire. We need something more pressing and more urgent than facts.
There is no way to prevent people from joining ISIS. We have been spreading the truth about the group and the damage it causes, yet everyday there are still people supporting them and the support is growing.
Most of the people who go help ISIS realize they made a huge mistake, we can't really do anything about it other than saying that if we catch you, you will be punished. ISIS is fighting the US, and by doing so all people who hate the US will perhaps not help ISIS but at least sympathize with them. ISIS isn't getting most of its funding from random people though, its a self-sufficient organization selling oil on the black market and trafficking people to pay for its operation. If we wan't to hurt's ISIS's funding we need to find a way to damage their oil trade.
You can't really stop people from helping Isis but I also don't think it's an issue. Almost no one in the western world supports Isis and I don't believe in restricting the rights of many to stop a few
