Did anything great happen over the weekend that totally rocked your world? Feel free to share a highlight or lowlight! :)
I had fun seeing Mrs. Switzer honored at the OC Teacher of the Year banquet on Friday night (along with Mrs. Halliday from Tuffree and Mrs. McDonald from Golden) watching the MiniCavs play three great soccer games on Saturday, having my daughter's team and their families over for a swim party Saturday evening, and then working on Halloween costumes (the Minis are going to be, as you can see, the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe) and going to Mock Trial practice yesterday! I'm excited for our MT season to start soon!
I did NOT enjoy how much traffic there was trying to get to and from the Disneyland Hotel for the banquet- it took me FORTY MINUTES to get from the 57 to the hotel on Ball and 35 minutes to get out of the parking lot after the event. At least the exit coincided with the fireworks show and I had a great view from my car :)

I got to see my niece for the first time in a year. she's grown up so much since the last time I saw her and she's really smart. she just turned four last month. :)

The band and colorguard traveled down into the lion's den this week and competed at Mt. Carmel! This trip is always a fun one partly because we get to share the company of our fellow members on an hour and a half bus ride down to San Diego. We spent the entire day down at Mt. Carmel high school. The morning was filled with an awesome parade competition which the band took 2nd in and colorguard took 3rd. Our evening was filled with fried chicken and an awesome field show. We recieved the high visual effect award and a few other first place trophies. I wish you all could experience a day like Saturday, because it is the type of day I live for. We arrived back home at 1:30 in the morning and called it a day.
Beyond having a fun day Saturday, Sunday I got to sleep in! When I say sleep in, I mean sleep in. It was 3 in the afternoon. The second happiest feeling in the world is sleeping in the day after a band competition. :) Next week, we will be taking the street and field at the Chino Invitational. Some of the top bands will be in attendance and I encourage you to try and come out. If not for the bands, do it for the food they always have cooking right underneath the bleachers.
Saturday night I went to homecoming at my old school. The best part was getting all dolled up for it. I had a lot of fun. After the dance, my date and I went to Dennys. The shoes I wore absolutely killed my feet. They still hurt! Besides that, it was a great night. Sunday I got to spend alllllll day relaxing. I actually slept in until 11:40! Overall, my weekend was pretty good.
I hung out with my friends all weekend long. On Saturday, I went to a friend's house and we watched a movie. On Sunday, I went to another friend's house and we went to go see the Book of Life. It was a cute movie.
