At least 14 people, including a general, were killed Thursday when a Ukrainian military helicopter was shot down by "terrorists" near Slovyansk, acting President Oleksandr Turchynov told Parliament.Turchynov said the chopper, which was carrying soldiers for a troop rotation, was shot down using a Russian rocket-propelled grenade launcher.
How do you think this situation in the Ukraine should be solved? Do you think the U.S. should step in if this violence continues, or is it their problem?
I do not know how this should be solved, but I do know that the U.S should not step in. Ukraine is a big boy they can help themselves. Maybe if half of the country gets destroyed or a giiiiannntt war gets started, then maybe the U.S should help, maybe...just a little.
I do not think that this is anything we should get too involved in. We cannot police the whole world and we should keep an eye out if it escalates, but other than that we need to concern ourselves.
I think the situation in Ukraine is going to go on longer than we will expect and i think it will take a joint effort by the international community to stop Russia's aggression. I think the US is expected to get involved and "save the day" as usual, but i don't think anybody really wants that to happen because when the United States send troops into Ukraine, it will no doubt in my mind escalate very quickly into maybe even a war.
This is a pretty delicate situation. The only way this should be solved is peacefully, because if something goes wrong it can cause WWIII. The US should be assisting in negotiations and getting the matter solved through as little violence as possible. No way should we send troops of any kind over there. Though it is their problem it can just as easily become ours. Anyways if Poland goes to war With Russia I get drafted to fight over there so lets not be hasty with the troops.
Russia has proved their ability as an agressor nation, and I think that efforts should be made by surrounding countries to clarify that they will not accept this anymore. However, I don't think that this is something that the US should be involved in. We need to stop attempting to police the entire globe, as Kyndall said.
I don't know how this issue is going to be resolved, and to be completely honest i don't care. This is Russia and Ukraine's problem. America needs to stop trying to get involved in problems like these. I have no idea why Americans feel the need to get involved in this issue it's none of our business and i'm pretty sure that Russia and Ukraine are sick of Americans trying to tell them what is best. Let em duke it out. The world will never be the wonderful utopia that Americans dream of and people need to get used to that. We have America because WE wanted this type of government i think we should stop trying to force our ideals and visions upon other nations. If the government gets bad the people will rebel and start a revolution and create the type of government they want. It's a cycle it has happened TONS of times throughout history. If you hand people the responsibility to deal with their own problems they will....
