At least 58 people have been killed and hundreds of villagers left stranded in devastating flash floods in northern Afghanistan, officials say. The governor of Jowzjan province warned that the number of victims was likely to rise. "Thousands of homes have been destroyed and thousands are suffering", Jowzjan's governor Boymurod Qoyinli told the BBC. He said that more than 80 people are missing and that 3,000 homes have been destroyed.
What do you think the government officials of Afghanistan should to to aid its citizens? Although this natural disaster couldn't have beem prevented, could the citizens have been more prepared? Should other countries send aid?

The govermen should aid their country as best as they can. The citizens could of had a plan in case something like this happened. Yes, other ountires should send aid.
The government should send militarypersonel to help the citizens. The citizens maybe could have packed an emergency kit or something and left, but there isnt really much that could have been done. Other countries should not send aid, they can take care of themselves.
The government officials should try and get help from anywhere they can cause that is a lot of damage and lives lost. I think the citizens could have been more prepared fro this but just weren't expecting it. Other countries who have gotten support from Afghanistan should definitely help them in this time of need.
I think it would be great for other countries to send aid and i do not think the citizens had much control. It is very unfortunate and the country should come together in a time like this, especially the government, to aid the recovery of the people and land.
This a very unfortunate disaster and i think that the government should do whatever they can to help their citizens. Also, i think that the citizens should have some things prepared in case a disaster like this happens.
The government should have told the area in advance that the bad weather was coming so the people of the area would be more prepared for the natural disaster.
I believe the government should provide aid for them and some shelter for them to live in temporarily. I do think they should have some things in case of an event like this however it was very unexpected.
I think the government sound send military aid and necessary supplies to those in need. If not, the death toll will raise even more than it is expected to. The citizens couldn't do much other than have supplies ready and saved in case of a natural disaster. If the government doesn't have the proper supplies/aid to help it's own citizens I do think that other countries should send aid.
The government should feel obligated to provide aid for those in need that have been affected by the floods. Although, the citizens could of been more prepared, it is the government's responsibility to educate its people on how to prepare for natural disasters.
I think it really sucks when stuff like this happens because we cant control nature and we never know what or when something is going to happen. /We can predict it but that's about it.
I think the government should do everything they possibly can and try to get aid from other countries. I feel that everyone could have been more prepared but if something tragic happens most of the time people aren't prepared because they don't expect it.
