The Kenyan government has decided to implant every rhino in the nation with microchips in an attempt to track and stop poachers. The process will include the sedation of hundred of animals. The chips will allow wildlife officials to track the rhinos and poachers. The endangered rhino is being threatened by illegal killings and this is the solution the country has come up with.
What do you think of the solution Kenya has come up with to stop poachers?
I think it's extremely smart and a good way to protect our wildlife and find those who are hurting them...and definetely sounds better than the "dyeing the horns pink and lacing them with non-lethal chemicals" that was mentioned at the end of the article...
This seems like an effective solution to the poaching problem, hopefully the officials in charge will be able to successfully carry out their duties to slow and possibly end poaching in Kenya forever.
I don't think that this is going to do anything. The poachers aren't going to stop if there is still a market for rhino tusks. The moment it stops being lucrative is when they'll stop.
