Canada's Prime Minister Stephan Harper's Conservative government, announce a proposal for a new outline to help restore a balance budget. They are hoping it will be balanced by 2015. They also stated that the need for pipelines through the U.S. would help Canada's economy and have their natural resources put to good use. And they won't take no for an answer. But President Obama refuses to have a pipeline going through the U.S. to the U.S. Gulf Coast.
Do you think it would be smart to allow Canada to have their pipeline go to the U.S. Coast allowing us to get their oil, instead of recieve oil from the Middle East? Or is Obama right to say no to the Pipeline?
President Obama's refusal is likely because of an environmental issue. I think it would be smart to allow Canada to have their pipeline to go through the U.S coast only if the risk of any coastal disaster was low.
I think Obama is correct in his stance, there is no reason for Canada to insist upon a pipeline being but through our country. The fact that the "won't take no for an answer" is even a bit threatining.
