Have you ever seen those parents that take a littel league game way too seriously? I know you have Mrs. Cav! Well a Chicago suburb just recently put up a sign in the Buffalo Grove Park to tell parents to calm down. The sign states that the outcome of the games are not going to affect the childs future and other things.
This game could possibly affect their future in many ways and the parents spend a lot of time and money on stuf like this so they aren't going to take it lightly.
I agree with the sign, you remember that ref who died because of an angry parent hit him or something, it just gets really ridiculous...parents need to calm down sometimes
I have a little brother in little league baseball, and I cannot count how many horrifyingly rude parents I've seen only this past season. It's incredible and it makes me wonder how the parents are treating thier kids off the field. There was a COACH!!! that lashed out against his own athletes! The parents on the other team fired him on the spot during a game and police and the referees escorted him away from the game. It was ridiculous. These are children....let them have fun.

Just for clarification, it was a player who was 17 at the time. Just in case its on the test.
I have reffed soccer, and more recently basketball. At first, it is abnoxious, but after a while, you really get a kick out of it. They have no influence over you, so you just smile at them. For the kids, it is unhealthy and some of these kids may love the game, but are pushed too hard to the point of losing the enjoyment they once had. Happened to me, not by my parents though.
Yeah this is bad. I feel that if you are stressing these kids out during an activity that is supposed to be fun, they will no longer enjoy that activity. The children will associate that stress with the sport and will avoid it as best they can. These leagues are for the kids to have a fun and safe environment to compete and grow with one another. The parents have clearly forgotten that.
I think games can change someone's future. But that does not mean that is an excuse for the parents to be rude by any means! Coming from an athlete who has dealt with awful refs who are biased, you don't forget it.

Forget what?
You don't forget the calls that they made, the feeling of not winning, the hatred towards the other team... the list goes on and on.
