Somalia famine killed close to 260,000 people, report says

Between 2010 and 2012, more than a quarter of a million people died in the famine in Somalia

People are saying that the world acted too slow and if they wouldve acted soon and responded quicker to the signs and predicitions of the famine they couldve saved a ton of lives

Do you think that the US should be more aware and active about helping other countries?

These are the kinds of things the US needs to be more concerned with. While North Korea and the Middle East are still at the top of our foreign policy agenda the US should be doing everything in its power to provide at least some assistance to countries going through things like this. I have been to Nigeria and although it is one of the more developed countries in Africa I witnessed enough of this to know that it needs to be fixed as quickly as possible.
