MW3

Each year a new addition to the, already now, 8 game series known as the great Call of Duty comes out. It rakes in up to 360 million dollars each time a new one comes out, thats more than some of the biggest grossing movies in history. But does this money madness have an end?

I forgot to pick up my pre-order yesterday and they closed at 6:00 PM, in all honesty, just by looking at the reception I've seen on youtube about the new game, I think most people are going to go back to Black Ops, just like how they said they were going to Black Ops when it was coming out (people destroyed their copies of MW2 and even made videos on it, sort of like how FPSRussia did with his copy of MW2), and then they did the same for their copy of Black Ops when MW2 was coming out. That commentator Chris Smoove actually made a video about this cycle of complaining a while back, don't remember which one it was.

All in all, I really think the main reasons people didn't like Black Ops are either misdirected or incorrect. Second chance pro wasn't a big deal really as people made it out to be in Black Ops because most of the people who used it were terrible players and couldn't get you when you downed them, the only real issue was early on before they patched it, if you didn't go back to get them, someone could steal your kill and you'd end up with an assist. Most servers on the PC side of Black Ops also installed rcon mods that autokicked people using second chance pro, which meant it was rarely seen in a good majority of servers (this is really one of the reasons why people got so upset when Infinity Ward announced they were not putting dedicated servers on MW3 for ranked matches, because of the problems with noobs abusing cheap weapons and perks, the lack of dedicated servers in MW2 also exacerbated the problem of people running around with noob tubes, one man army and danger close pro because there were no ways to kick people out of those servers, I'm guessing IW did that on purpose because they were among the noobs that used second chance.) The only thing I really found annoying was how they patched it so shotguns now bypass second chance (but not sniper rifles), and now I see people being cheap running around with silenced spas-12s. And people hated Nuketown (which is my favorite map) only because they couldn't muster the brain cells to use flack jacket and kept camping at their own house and letting their team get spawn trapped when they should be attacking the enemy at the other house.

To be honest, I actually found COD4 more annoying than I did Black Ops, which a good majority of people regard to be the best COD game, because of the noobs that used martyrdom and stopping power (and the fact there were no measures to spoof UAVs, and since cold blooded was on the same tier perk as stopping power, it effectively meant COD4 was easier than Black Ops since 99% of the time people were visible on the radar in reality, in Black Ops I had to pay attention to sound in most cases to catch people invisible to the radar so playing music while playing Black Ops meant I'd do terribly, but that's not the case in COD4 or in MW2, where I could literally look at the minimap the whole time and still do well), which was why I was glad that in Black Ops Treyarch wisely removed stopping power from the game (and in MW3 it did not return). Most people also complained about the 74u and the Famas in the game for how overpowered it was, but in reality the 74u was terrible without rapid fire, even when they nerfed the gun. They supposedly "nerfed" the famas also to have more recoil (although I hardly notice any myself when I use it). A lot of reasons most people didn't like Black Ops was simply because of Ghost Pro, which made people invisible to the radar. I think most of the people who didn't like Black Ops were the people who weren't able to see people on the map all the time. I wouldn't be surprised though, if the people complaining about Black Ops though, after playing MW3, went back to playing Black Ops, that's how it usually works, apparently like presidents, you can't judge a COD game until the next one came out.

Eventually this cycle of useless remakes of the same game will end; but it will result in a new cycle of games. Modern Warfare will die and will bring rise to another long remakes of the same game over and over again with just slight changes to its game.
