With partially nude photos of her popping up on Web sites questioning her Christian credentials, Miss California USA Carrie Prejean has fired back, claiming the racy pictures are just modeling shots and vowing to continue her battle against same-sex marriage.
"I am a Christian, and I am a model," Prejean said in a statement released overnight to the media. "Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swimwear photos. Recently, photos taken of me as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith. I am not perfect, and I will never claim to be."
But Alicia Jacobs, a judge at the April 19 Miss USA pageant during which Prejean made her highly publicized statement opposing same-sex marriage, said the pictures go beyond what the Miss California pageant says are appropriate.
Do you think the photos were being used to silence her for her beliefs? Do you think those photos were used to "mock her Christian faith"?

i think that the answer she gave did offend many people..but what would have happened if she wouldve said she is for gay marriage. many would get offended too. she shouldnt have really answered the question cus too many people make things like this a big deal. its her opinion. we are all entitled to one. so we should drop it..
Yes, I do agree that those photos were released by the media to mock and embarrass her in hopes in taking away her crown. I'm very proud of what miss california did, sticking up for herself. Shes been thru alot and everyone has that free will to speak their minds. Such a controverscial question was unethical and absolutley unecessary.
I don't even understand how we can debate this question. She gave her honest answer and now she is getting destroyed for it. So in society you can't disagree anymore or your an intolerant biggot. I think we should value her honesty and the fact that she was very polite through this entire episode.

Honestly, I think those photos were used to mock her christian faith. I think its wrong that they are attacking her for photos that she took when she was younger. Things like this happen all the time and the media loves to hype it up and make it into a huge deal. As for the comment she made about same sex marriage... It was HER opinion last time I checked everyone is entitled the their own opinion. They asked her that question and she simply spoke out.

people make mistakes...let it be. look where she is at now....it would be different it she had some secret life. i dont think these pictures have anything to do with religion..god forgives people for there sins. at least she was honest about the whole thing...
i dont think the pictures should relate to her religion. or for how it is anyway, for someone who is trying to be a role model for others and acting close to perfect because she clams shes not, probably because no one is but still the big picture is weird that she is saying her religion is tied in with the pictures being released and i saw her talking on the news the other night or on some show talking about it and how she felt like violated by people doing this to her and stuff like that. its just stupid she did it to herself. she knew what she was doing so she should just be like yeah i took some racy pictures who cares everyone has im sure.
I think that someone put them out there just for the fun of the controversy. obviously...
She has stated outloud that she is a christian and many people would say that these photos contadict that. i do not think that ANYONE has the right to tell her what is right or what is wrong. its her choice. who cares? DONT LOOK :)
I don't think it is the job of anyone to pass judgement on other people expect in the rare case in which you are rebuking the person with the intent to love and not with a motive to bring someone down. So I think people should leave her alone but I also don't think she should have posed in the those racy photos and if she expects to be respected for her views as a Christian she should live by her words in the future. She stated herself that her career as a model will ask her to compromise on her morals so she either needs to either find another career or make it clear that she will not pose in any more nude photos in the future.
She had the courage to voice her opinions on gay marriage, which is more than I can say for myself so I commend her for her bravery but I suggest she realize that her actions are under the scrutinizing eye of the media and be more wise in her actions.
