The president of Brazil asked God to stop the rain that has killed 116 people,and proposes a chance for survivors.the conitinuing rains have hindered rescuers attempt to look fo r more bodies. 31 people are still missing."We're only asking God to stop the rains soon so that we can start to rebuild the state of Santa Catarina," he said.

How do you think America would react if a similar situation occured?

i don't think that america would ask God to stop the rains, because some people don't believe in a God.
i think america would send in some aid to help the people.

i think that america would be praying, they would just not be making it a national spectacle, our response would entail levy work as well as other things to help prevent flooding and further deaths

I believe alot of people would be praying as well as taking our steps toward getting a-hold of the situation.

i think there would be some what of a controversy, however given to the situation i don't see the harm in it.

I see no problem in people praying if thats what they believe will work. But I for one would expect tangible action from the government.

I would be pretty pissed off if some of my family was missing and all the government was doing to help was praying.

Take action
and pray that it works

as for the US i would like to think we would set up some sort of relief system for the rain
such as levys or a means to direct the fallen rain elsewhere so that it doesnt flood one particular area
