A family who had been staying at a Caribbean resort has been suffering in critical condition after a banned pesticide spray was sprayed where they were staying. Two of the teenagers are hospitalized and now the parents are falling ill and are visiting therapy. The Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Justice and authorities in the Virgin Islands are investigating. The EPA said that in April, its probe had found the toxic pesticide was used at the Sirenusa Condominium Resort in St. John several times in the past, and then banned the chemical for residential use in 1984.
I think that the resort should be punished for using banned pesticide because it harmed their customers. They should have pesticides sprayed on them. Just kidding, they should go to court.
Personally, I believe that the resort should not be punished but rather the company that applied the pesticide should be. If the pesticide was banned, it is not the resorts priorities to know whether or not it was banned from 30 years ago. This was a clear mistake on the third party "Terminix" as they should have known its harmful side effects and thought twice before applying it to a resort where people stay and sleep in.
The resort as well as those who sprayed the areas should be held accountable. If the pesticide was banned than why was it even their for use of the company? I believe the family and the customers that are affected definitely have a right to take these people to court.
they definetly should be punished. the family affected will most likely file a law suit, but aside from that the hotel could be shut down anyway for illegal activity and harming guests
I think that both the company who sprayed the pesticide, and the ones who gave permission to spray the pesticide should be punished. I think a fine is necessary.
I think the resort should definitely be punished for not being cautious of what they are spraying in their resort. Also, the family is bound to file a law suit
The resort should be punished. They harmed their guests and it could have been prevented if they didn't use banned pesticides. The pesticides they have been using have been banned since 1984 which makes it that much worse. Theyre going to lose a lot of business from this incident as well
The resort used a banned pesticide they should be punished. It should be shut down until the pesticide is completely gone and the danger of other people getting sick is over.
They should be punished, it is their fault this family is suffering now. and their punishment will naturally occur, they are going to lose a lot of business and reflect on themselves on how to improve and learn to never do this again
The resort should for sure be punished. They should have known what was going on with the pest controls and how it would effect other residents. They should have to pay the family for this tragedy and the resort should be closed down.
