A suspect, Ehe Lar Doh Htoo, 18, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon. On Wednesday March 11, 3 boys were stabbed and killed in their own home, and the sister and mother were injured. The brothers were 12, 5 and 1. Two died in the house, and one died at the hospital, police said. The mother and sister were in good condition. Their names were not immediately released.
A few safety precautions that can be taken in order to avoid tragic events such as this are; buying and setting up security systems that are linked to and installed by various companies, acquiring weaponry purchased for self-defense, and setting up a neighborhood watch around the area of your home.

install a home security system, keep a gun for self defense, put up security cameras, the usual stuff could help. but reguardless of precautions, nothing can protect against 100% of attacks
Security system
My house got broken into recently. Nothing was stolen because it was the middle of the day and my mom got home quickly, so they didn't have any time. But it is creepy to think that we were be watched as they waited for the house to be empty. Even though we were lucky that time, it hit us that Yorba Linda isn't completely safe anymore. We decided to get a security system to feel safer (we still don't have one, we kinda just brushed this incident aside).
I think families should invest in buying a security system. Even having a guard dog would help since they can hear and see things better than we could.
They could set up a home security system, or they could ask for a neighborhood watch. Another thing they could do is put up something on their windows and doors to block off the attacks.
