This article explains the difficulties of Mexican towns that live under terror of the cartels, and the town of Michoacan knows this too well. When the trucks came for someone in their street, they would turn off all the lights in their houses, lock their doors and hide their children. You could never be sure who the cartel was after. On one occasion, the women said, a neighbor was kidnapped and found the day later wrapped in a blanket, dead. What do you think we should do about this?
We, as the US, need to step up and help eradicate these cartels through diplomatic terms with the Mexican government. Although corrupt and a large portion controlled by the cartels, the US needs to help eradicate this corruption to help save the lives of the innocent Mexican citizens who have no chance standing up against these monsters.
I agree with Maddy, we as liberated Americans have an obligation to help those in need of assistance that can't help themselves. I also believe it should be handled through diplomacy and public relations, regardless of the fact that there is a high amount of corrupt politicians in the governing system of Mexico that are associated with the cartels.
