The U.S. Department of Agriculture said a 125-million-bushel increase in corn exports reduced ending stocks and helped push the estimated price for corn up to $4.40 to $4.80 a bushel this growing year.
I think that this is definitely a situation that should be closely monitored by those in the agriculture business, because the increasing price could result in lack of product purchase. However since corn is in demand at the moment, farmers should seek more cost and time effective ways of exporting their goods in order to better their percentage of income in every sale.
corn is one of Americas most valuable raw materials due to the fact that ethanol can be produced from it. the fact that the price is rising is not a surprise... and yes i like corn.
I love Korn! It's a shame to see them rising up. They used to be underground when I started listening to them. Not sure why this has to do with agriculture though...
Steamed corn, fried corn, popcorn, grilled corn, boiled corn, candy corn, canned corn, is all good corn. I believe this is something to be closely monitored because of the fact of declining water levels in California, the nation's #1 agricultural food source. Lower water sources means higher prices of production that will result in higher shelf price. Unfortunately, the southwest may be facing a Super-Drought "..the like of which they have not witnessed in over a 1,000 years."
I think there is a fair amount of concern. Prices will continue to change however this isn't only a price issue for it just relates and connects to other more important issues like drought as Michael said.
I don't see much concern in the change in price of corn. Prices rise and fall based on things like consumer demand and production costs so the price of corn right now is reflecting those ideas. Prices on food products change all the time and if the costs are too much to afford there is always something else that you can buy to eat.
Whether you realize it or not corn is in everything that we eat and consume. Almost everything nowadays has high fructose corn syrup in it which is made from corn and almost all of our animals are fed corn. Knowing this would mean that if corn rises then the price of meat would also rise. Yes I find it a large concern.
