More Harper Lee info (I find the title to be a little presumptuous, because i actually knew all of those tidbits, but in case you didn't :) ):

1. She's still alive.

You'd be surprised how many people didn't realize that until yesterday. Leewill be publishing her second book in July at the age of 89.

2. She's more popular than Moses.

In 2006, members of the British Museum, Libraries and Archives Council voted To Kill A Mockingbird the number one book that every adult should read before they die. The Bible was number two (source).

3. Harper is actually her middle name.

Her first name, Nelle, is her grandmother Ellen's name spelled backward (source).

4. She rubbed elbows with the rich and famous...in kindergarten.

When Lee was in kindergarten, she befriended an eccentric young boy named Truman Streckfus Persons. You might know him as Truman Capoteor Dill.

5. Even she had writer's block.

At one point, Lee grew so frustrated with the writing process she opened the window of her New York apartment and hurled the entire TKAM manuscript into the snow. Clearly, she got it back.

6. She studied law.

Lucky for us, she quitbut not too early to get some good deets for the courtroom scene in To Kill a Mockingbird.

7. She wrote more than one book.

The manuscript for the TKAM sequel was rediscovered last year, and after some hesitation, Lee agreed to publish it. We hear Peter Jackson is directing the movie adaptation, so get ready for Go Set a Watchman Parts 1-3.

8. Go Set a Watchman was written in the mid-1950s, before she wrote To Kill a Mockingbird, which was published in 1960. It was set aside when her editor suggested that she write another novel from the young Scout Finch's perspective. The manuscript was then lost for many years, until being rediscovered by her lawyer in the fall of 2014. It will be published as originally written, with no revisions.

My favorite book is Ruby Holler and the best one i have read lately is The Great Gatsby. Ten books would be Ruby Holler, Of mice and men, To Kill a Mockingbird, Divergent, Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mocking Jay, Fault in our stars, Lightning Thief, and Just Listen.

1) TKAM (obvs)

2) The Harry Potter series (which I know is cheating...#3 is my absolute fave, but I love them all). A box set of the first four was the first Christmas present I ever got from my now-husband-then-boyfriend :)

3) The Fault in Our Stars (because it's great on its own, and also because it was my doorway into the rest of John Green's amazing work)

4) Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library (Chris Grabenstein is one of the all-time best gifts to children's literature)

5) Anne of Green Gables

6) The Help

7) A Long Way Gone

8) Bitter is the New Black and everything else Jen Lancaster has written

9) Little Earthquakes and bunch of other Jennifer Weiner stuff

10) All of the Greek/Roman Rick Riordan stuff (I'm not so crazy about the Egyptian strain, but I'm excited for the Viking stuff coming soon!)

I am actually excited TKAM is a great book and portrays a great message to readers. I really enjoyed reading The Great Gatsby and insight it gave on life during the 1920s.

i dont really read books. im not a fan of reading because im a rather active person and m too impatient to sit and read. but if i absolutely had to pick a book i say either The Great Gatsby or The Invention of Hugo Cabret

I have mixed feelings about the coming release of the new TKAM. Although I absolutely adored the original and would love to hear new stories revolving around Scout, Jem and Atticus, I am skeptical that the new book will be as wonderful as the original. I hope to be wrong! :)

My favorite book is probably The Illiad as it shows both the glorious and cruel aspects of war through the situations of Hector and Achilles.
The ten books I'm glad to have read are: Count of Monte Cristo, TKAM, Huck Finn, The Hobbit, The Odyssey, Richard III, Outliers, A Christmas Carol, The Aeneid, and The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.

I love your kid's middle names so much!! My favorite book is really anything by Malcolm Gladwell. He is just my favorite author that connects to his reader as if you were having a conversation with him and while I am reading, I'm going through so many epiphanies that allow me to see things in a different way. he also says so many things I agree with while including examples to prove my observations correct- so reading his books are a fun time. The best book I have read lately would be World War II Love Stories because it is my favorite time period. Non fiction is my favorite so it's common in my list of ten: Freudian Slips, Outliers, Secret Lives of Great Artists, A Higher Call, Stellaluna, Auschwitz, TKAM, Brave New World, Tale of Two Cities, and What the Dog Saw. And Interpretation of Dreams and Mein Kampf are next on my reading list.
