An army run school in Peshawar, Pakistan was attacked by Pakistani Militants on December 16, 2014. Officials report 141 deaths, 132 of them being children. There were seven attackers, equipped with bomb vests, which entered classrooms shooting at random. The school is surrounded by a wall which the attackers had to scale in order to enter the school.

Do you think schools like the one in Peshawar need further protection such as walls, and do you think that these precautions would work in suppressing further terrorist attacks?
I think there should be more protection around the school like thick walls maybe even trained guards. Anything they need to do to keep the students and staff safe should be their number one priority.
What needs to happen is the people of Pakistan need to stand up to the Taliban, the ones behind much of the violence in the area recently. Many analysts say that the withdrawal of US and other coalition forces is making the Taliban more bold recently. Violence is not uncommon in the subcontinent. Pakistan and their neighbor, India, have never been what you would call friends since the region declared independence from The UK. But the act of pure evil has definitely shaken Pakistan to their core. Regardless, there must be swift and relentless retaliation against the Taliban.
Everyone in Pakistan knew this attack was coming, for several of the past months the Pakistani army has been cracking down on the Taliban, using airstrikes in combination with ground forces. They have claimed to killed over 1,200 Taliban militants, the Taliban weren't just going to sit idle as their organization began to crumble. This is an act of desperation by the Taliban, as their attacks have decreased 30% in Pakistan this year. I think that Pakistan should continue its offensive against the Taliban, and in the mean time try enhance security at schools, although I doubt the nation is capable of comprehensive security for schools.
Well, the wall obviously didn't work, so no I don't think they need more walls, I think they need more protection. They need officers that can guard schools and make the students feel safe. This I think would suppress further terrorist attacks because they would have a less likely chance of entering the school in the first place.
Building walls aren't going to work. They can help, but schools need trained officers, and the government needs to continue their attacks on the Taliban.
I think schools like the one in Peshawar should have more protection. Eventhough the wall they had up didn't work, they should try to have other ways of protection. If they have the right protection they could keep the terrorist attacks out.
