Supposedly, 5 Chinese Army officials in China attempted to infiltrate American companies via hacking and learn about trade secrets. China is denying the allegations.
If, let's say if, the 5 Chinese Army officials are proven to have been hacking American companies, should China be punished as a whole or merely these men?

I totally agree with John. Not the whole nation committed the crime, why punish the innocents? The five Chinese officials "proven" to be guilty must be punished.
It would be great if you posted the article so we could read more on the subject. I think this would depend on whether or not these army officials were ordered or not to carry out these actions. Even then so, what punishment could we actually give onto China? Don't they kinda own our government with all our debt?
I believe that if these men are found guilty they should be severely punished for hacking, but China should also be punished because these men worked for the army so people must of known what they were doing.
I think only these particular men should be punished. If they did do it then we have to keep a closer eye on the Chinese cause who knows what they will do with that kind of information.
I don't agree with the ideal of punishing an entire group, or in this case country, for a small group of people's wrongdoings. In this case, I feel as though it would be a gross infringement upon Chinese citizens' rights to punish them all
I think there should be consequences for this because obviously if they do it once they can do it again and they shouldnt have that chance to. U.S. should look into how they were doing it so can prevent that from happening again
