Italian ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi has likened Jewish suffering in Hitler's Germany to what his family feels about his judicial woes, triggering criticism from Italian politicians and Jewish leaders that he is trivializing the Holocaust. Berlusconi, children say "it's like everyone is on top of us."
Do you think that in some parts of the world, some people are being persecuted or feel like they are just because of their religion or race? Or is Berlusconi overreacting by relating some criticism about his family to the Holocaust?
I think he is overreacting and that his "persecution" is not anywhere near as bad as in the Holocaust since he and his family aren't being put into concentration camps and gassed to death.
I think he's being crazy dramatic. There really is nothing that could compare to the atrocities that happened during the Holocaust, and I hope there never will be, but I think it's easier to get attention if you compare your situation to something that everyone knows about, like the Holocaust.
Berlusconi is wrong in his likening his criticism to the Holocaust. In my opinion, almost nothing can be likened to the plight of the Jewish people during the Holocaust. To compare the two is disrespectful to all the people who suffered and lost their lives in the tragic event.
He seems to be overeacting, but it's still pretty hard for someone to be crtiticized. Maybe he feels like he's being persecuted harshly, although it doesen't seem that way to others.
The comparison is a great exaggeration and I feel like it is a disrespectful statement, he's trying to protect his image by making his prosecutors look bad for a tax fraud crime that he committed.
ummmmm. well black people get harassed all the time because they are dark skinned. Those people are being harassed in their own way and they are upset about it, i don't think they are over reacting.
