According to the new prime minister, Bhutan's expression of 'gross national happiness' is overused and masks problems with corruption and low standards of living in the country.
The countrys pursuit of happiness economic development, the enviorment and people's psychological well-being was first proposed by Bhutans former king in the 1970s.
Due to a payment crisis last year, a severe shortage of Indian rupees, has lead the government to tighten import controls and sharply slow the economy and restricted foreign goods.
