In Johannesburg, South Africa, a strike in going on about the work wages of the gold mining industry. It resembles slave labor in this industry with unsafe work conditions and very low pay, at about $24 a MONTH! The strikers are spreading though the countries to the tens of thousands, which is costing the gold mining companies over 29 million dollars a day in costs. They are now discussing and suggesting a 150% raise in workers and the future for them is looking better.
The miners in South Africa are definitely fighting for the right cause, and if i were to be one of them i wouldn't think twice about joining the strikes.
African has it hard enough and seeing these workers striking for a better life is only justified. It really shows that you can fight for you're well being in today's world.
If the miners are being paid that low of a wage they are definatly right to put together a strike. And if the company is losing that much money during the strike, a higher wage would not be a problem.
They're the people who fill people's needs to own gold and stuff! They do the work for other's pleasures, and they're paid so lowly from it. I believe they should be given a much bigger raise, along with better conditions to work in
i believe this is a good thing to fight for and i think more people should join in and hopefully more places will learn and also start to strike for higher better rights
