A 15-year-old South African boy died after he was kept chained to his bed, beaten with planks and hoses at a training camp that boasted of "making men" out of its young recruits, a court has heard.
The man who leads the camp is now being looked further into and has found to of committed other crimes at the camp. It's pretty nasty what this man has done. The article does a much better job at explaining than I do.
That little boy could've been anyone of us! This is torture. I don't know if the U.S. can really do anything except try to settle all the unrest in Africa, but that seems virtually imposible.
The first thought is that maybe there could've been a better background check for this sort of thing. Its a very sad thing that this sort of thing happened.
I dont think the US can really do anything about the unrest in Africa at the moment. It's unfortunate but things like this are probably going to continue happening.
I agree with Ryan, I think that they should provide more information about the camp or you should research and do a background check on the organization before you put the life of your child into the hands of a stranger.
Reading the whole story made me cringe. What that poor boy went through, and how he felt I can't even imagine. And to think, there were probably thousands more like this case that went unreported because the teenagers didn't die. Simply makes me sick.
