Tiago Klimeck, a 27-year-old Brazilian actor died after accidentally hanging himself during the play "The Passion of the Christ," a local hospital said.
Klimeck was playing the role of Judas Iscariot, who is supposed to hang himself as described in the Bible in the book of Matthew. Klimeck wore a harness under his robe during the play and when the scene came, he accidentally hung himself.
Do you think that it is irresponsible for the theatre to allow a scene like this? What precautions should've the theater taken beforehand?
It said he was wearing his harness. Unfortunately, this was a case of safety measures not working. Its tragic but its not the theaters fault as long as precautions were taken

I don't think it's irresponsible for the theatre to allow this scene because they're only trying to stay true to the Bible. Hopefully they had the actor sign a liability form or something so the family doesn't sue the theater.

Generally a liability form isnt needed because the actor has a harness keeping them from actually hanging. But this case would likely get thrown out because the actor had the option to reject the part if they felt the risk was too great.
