Saudi Arabian officials have detained an endangered Griffon Vulture on accusations of being a spy for Israel. The bird was caught was after landing in the desert city of Hyaal a few days ago. Locals discovered a GPS transmitter bearing the name Tel Aviv University and now suspect that the bird was involved in part of a Zionist plot..... Israeli officials are stunned by the allegations and concerned that the bird could meet a horrible punishment in the notoriously severe Saudi justice system.
"The device does nothing more than receive and store basic data about the bird's whereabouts, and about his altitude and speed," a bird specialist at Israel's Park and Nature Authority told the newspaper.
Do YOU think that the bird was indeed involved in espionage?

The fact that some geniuses were laughed at does not imply that all who are laughed at are geniuses. They laughed at Columbus, they laughed at Fulton, they laughed at the Wright brothers. But they also laughed at Bozo the Clown.
This is ridiculous! They actually believe a BIRD is a spy? How are they going to put it on trial? Can you even put an animal on trial and punish it? This is too bizarre.
I think it's probable that it could have been used for spying, since I've heard of things like this before... But, it sounds like an innocent University project to me.
