"Spy Vulture"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-12120259

Saudi Arabian officials have detained an endangered Griffon Vulture on accusations of being a spy for Israel. The bird was caught was after landing in the desert city of Hyaal a few days ago. Locals discovered a GPS transmitter bearing the name Tel Aviv University and now suspect that the bird was involved in part of a Zionist plot.....
Israeli officials are stunned by the allegations and concerned that the bird could meet a horrible punishment in the notoriously severe Saudi justice system.

"The device does nothing more than receive and store basic data about the bird's whereabouts, and about his altitude and speed," a bird specialist at Israel's Park and Nature Authority told the newspaper.

Do YOU think that the bird was indeed involved in espionage?

Can this seriously be real? This is hilarious!

This is ridiculous! They actually believe a BIRD is a spy? How are they going to put it on trial? Can you even put an animal on trial and punish it? This is too bizarre.

If they were going to spy I don't think a endangered vulture would be the most inconspicuous animal to use.

If the Saudi's are being serious then this is sad. Its a Bird. Not a secret agent spy guy.

I think it's probable that it could have been used for spying, since I've heard of things like this before... But, it sounds like an innocent University project to me.

I don't know if I think the bird actually was. If it was, however, it would be pretty creative.

Wow that's pretty clever if it is true. But they are going to have to do more investigating because you can't just jump to conclusions.

I think it would be pretty stupid if they punish to the bird for it. I hope they release it.
