since we're so near the end of our time together, it seems opportune to do some reflection....
any feedback from this semester? your favorite topics? stuff you loved? stuff you hated? other stuff we should do in the course? would you take another similar course in college (lots of schools have global issues classes)?
THANKS TO YOU for a great semester and for your intense, copious, and wide-ranging online posts! You guys have been wonderful in your thoughtfulness, courtesty, willingness to engage in respectful debate, and spirit of fun!! :)
As you journey onward, keep up your knowledge - read the newspaper, subscribe to a weekly newsmag, at least surf online for some current articles. You are inheriting a global world, to be sure, and you will best contribute if you are INFORMED. And get involved - I know some of you think that it's not our government's place to solve the world's problems, but it is ALWAYS appropriate for PEOPLE to involve themselves in being agents of positive change!!!
Enjoy these last few days together, and have a great summer! Thanks for a great semester! :)Cav

This is probably my favorite class in high school out of all of them. Seriously, a class where you can express how you feel and what you're thinking is amazing. I want to take another class like this in college. I do not think anything needs to be done to this class it is PERFECT how it is. I recommend everyone I know who is a sophomore or freshman to take this class because it is so amazing. Thanks all for the fun semester in this class.
It's a cool cool class. I just love watching the news and know things happening around the world. What I love to do is to find ridiculous aritcles and shock people with it. Remember the one about an Australian dude karate-chopping a train? YEAAAAAAH
i think that this was my favorite class. i thought it was fun learning about all the things that go on around the world and it also gives you a better understanding what is going on in the world.. what i hated the most was the map quizzes since im not every good of knowing where everything is
I really liked this class because of all the news stories and updates we would talk about that were going on in the world. Even though I didnt participate much, I still had opinions on almost every topic and it made me think and analyze things more than I usually do.
i thought that this class was alot of funn. it was great to be so informed about political issues and see both sides. also to see whats going on in our country and around the world everyday. and i liked sharing my opinions on topics. i didnt like alot of the map quizes though cause of trying to remember all the tiny little countries. also i dont like the fact that there is going to be a map of the world quiz on the final being that it sounds suuuuuuuuuuper hard, hopefully it wont be since ive been studying.
This is an amazing class. I dont really watch or read the news much but this class kept me updated on whats going on in the world. I have learned so much in this class with less work. I recomend people to join this class.
I loved this class:) It was really great getting to voice my opinion on a daily basis... And about things that are acutally important.. Things that are going on in the world. This class was great because everyone interacted in some way or another... In most classes, everyone splits off into their little groups and never has a chance to get to know all the rest of their classmates. And while we weren't doing it in person, all of us got to see what everyperson in this class though about something. I appreciate global news now.. I used to just push it aside because I never thought it would relate to me. But in taking World Affairs, I see that even if it doesn't directly effect me, my opinion on an issue definately matters.
I thought the class was a good reminder that there are problems all around the world. I do think the class could have benefited more if we concentrated more on important issues though.
i think that this class was different than I expected and I learned alot this semester. So many of the issues we talked about I had no idea even existed before this class.
