Not necessarily. I don't think it depends on the size of the government, but instead on what the government does for the people. You can have a large government that doesn't do much for the people and you can have a small government that does a lot to better its people. It just all depends what the governemtn does.

Well, government should be responsible for protecting its people. Protecting their rights and making sure they are not in danger. Whether they should be in charge of healthcare and matters like that, I am not so sure about.

If it is listed in the Constitution then it was obviously thought to be something that people could handle and was not somethingg dangerous. So, I agree.

I think that a smaller government would be a better solution to America's problems because whenever the government gets involved whether it be Healthcare, School, or the DMV it sucks really bad. No Offense to anyone. lol

Exactly. Cut off the income tax and the federal government will be starved back down to the size it should be. Not any of these other things like social security and healthcare.

actually i think a bigger goveremet would be bettter because you would have more people to keep everyone in check when you have smaller goverement then that means less people with more power so it because an elite group who make all the decsions. so bigger geverement with less power the better

If we all stopped paying taxes then the government would not have money to fund roads and all those other things. I don't think that would be very wise.

We are talking about federal government here. Roads and such can be the jobs of the states or cities. We already pay enough taxes to them as it is. But the federal government does not need to fund any of those things because it is not the federal government's job to do that.

If I'm on the same page as everyone else here, i believe that what it meant by "small government" is actually a government with less power. A big government would be a governemnt with more power and control over our lives. And that is a bad thing.
