Its time to stock up on chicken soup, Kleenex and anxiety the flu and cold season has arrived. Some people may ignore flu shot shortages and a co-workers sniffles, but the rest of us hit the barricades, armed with soap, a full medicine cabinet and wariness when offered a handshake.
Germs that cause illness lurk in some out-of-the way spots, and bacteria and viruses can remain active on surfaces for days or even weeks, especially in wet areas. "Because of the natural moisture of our skin, we easily pick up these organisms, and we transfer them to our face," says Elizabeth Scott, co-director of Boston's Simmons College Center for Hygiene and Health in Home and Community. Good hygiene in the home is especially important for people with compromised immune systems, Scott notes.
1. Remote Control 2. Salt and Pepper shakers 3. Purse 4. Pets 5. Grocery Cart 6. Showerhead 7. Desk 8. Cell Phone 9. Carpet
I touch most or all of these things everyday without taking any precautions to not get sick. How has it affected me? I RARELY (almost never) get sick (ask any of my friends lol). My theory: we have an immune system; let it do its job. It has worked out pretty well for me so far.

the objects aren't surprising. i could've sworn keyboard and mouse was going to be ont here but it's not haha. but let us be happy we have immune systems and medicine :D
Everything has germs on it. Door handles for one are something that we touch every single day. There is a billion ways for us to come in contact with germs, BUT there are ways for us to make sure we don't let these germs affect us. Wash your hands, use hand sanitizer, don't touch your face constantly. There are people who are extrememly afraid of germs, but I am not one of those people because I do not put myself in danger with these germs.

EVERYTHING has germs and bacteria. It's unavoidable. So long as you wash your hands every so often, or use sanatizer, one should be fine. Even if one decided to live in a plastic bubble to avoid germs, it would be unsuccessful. They're EVERYWHERE.

Yes they are everywhere. Except in my body. My immune system takes the fight to the germs instead of waiting for them to make me sick. The key is a preemptive first strike.
