Last night i was flipping through the tv, and saw smoething on fox news about a baby was found in a box with his umbilical cord still attached. Ants were crawling all over the newborn. THis happened in southern florida. The absolute amazing thing about this is that the child was still alive and was immediately taken to a hospital where he is doing fine right now. They determined the baby to be only ONE WEEK OLD.
unethical. disgusting and WRONG!!! i hope they find the mother and arrest her, but i don't think they will. Gosh, this is so sad. Why do women do that to their kids when they can free surrender him/her or choose adoption?

I agree with Chris, people who do things like that are monsters and its great that the baby survived. I hope that everything goes well with the baby and they find a good home for the baby

thats despicable. i think if people cant keep it in their pants, or aren't able to not be inebriated enough to make bad decisions, then they should at least have the decency to find a good home for their unborn child where it will be loved and taken care of. its not fair for a baby to be treated like that because of their dumb@$$ parent's bad choices. i hope if they find whoever left the baby in that box, then THEY should be locked into a box and be eaten alive by ants.
that is sooo sad! :( that makes me wanna cry. how could you do that to someone? people make me sick sometimes, seriously. i hope they find the parents or whoever did this to the baby!
Things like this are so sick. It shocks me that people can be this careless. this isnt even careless! this is twisted and wrong. :( love your babies! THANK GOODNESS it is still healthy. thats a miracle
first off whoever left the baby there is a complete a-hole and im jus glad the baby is doing better now- but i cant believe people can be so cruel like that
its ridiculous. even if you dont want to care for your child, you should at lest give it up to an adoption agency or something. one persons selfishness should not jeopardize a totally innocent baby at living a productive and happy life.
The Safe Surrender Baby Law (also known as the Safe Haven Law or Newborn
Abandonment Law) was signed into law by Governor Davis in September 2000 and
went into effect on January 1, 2001. The purpose of the law is to protect babies from
being hurt or killed because they were abandoned. The law allows a parent or legal
guardian to confidentially surrender an infant, three days old or younger, to any
hospital emergency room
. As long as the baby has not been abused or neglected,
the person may surrender the baby without fear of arrest or prosecution for child
abandonment. No names are required and the parent(s) will not be subject to
prosecution for child abandonment. The baby will receive needed medical treatment
and be placed in an adoptive home.

Actually, if they do find who ever left the baby stranded, they will arrest that person. At least if it had happened in New York the person will get arrested. (there was law and order episode a little like this, except i think the baby had died and they were trying to find the mother) anyway, it is horrible. i don't know what goes through people's minds when they do this sort of thing. there are a lot of better solutions of what to do with a child that you feel you can't provide for. what is their reasoning when they throw newborns in the dumpster? it's sick.
