WICHITA, Kan. (June 1) A man suspected of fatally shooting abortion doctor George Tiller in church was in jail Monday while investigators sought to learn more about his background, including his possible connections to anti-abortion groups.
Tiller, 67, was serving as an usher during morning services Sunday when he was shot in the foyer of Reformation Lutheran Church, police said. The gunman fired one shot at Tiller and threatened two other people who tried to stop him.
Tiller had been a lightning rod for abortion opponents for decades. The women's clinic he ran is one of three in the nation where abortions are performed after the 21st week of pregnancy, when the fetus is considered viable, and has been the site of repeated protests for about
A protester shot Tiller in both arms in 1993, and his clinic was bombed in 1985.
What do you guys think?

i don't agree with his actions, but i definately don't think he should have been killed for his beliefs. people shouldn't be harmed for their beliefs. the guy who killed the man he thought was wrong, is wrong himself. his morals were definately twisted.
Though I definately don't agree with the doctors views and think what he did was wrong, I do believe the shooter should definately go to prison murder is murder!
it's sad that people who oppose abortion because they believe it's MURDER would kill someone to prove that killing is wrong....did that make sense?? it sounds kinda weird.....

I think its definitely wrong they murdered him at a church. It's sad someone like this had previous death threats, needed security. and for all the anti-abortion groups saying I hope they don't make this political, there definitely will be political backlash.
Anti-abortion groups have even come forward in saying that they don't support the killing of the doctor. I mean, if they did, that's EXTREMELY hypocritical.
obviously its wrong to murder someone just because what you think hes doing is unethical. what he does is completely legal, and the person who killed him needs to be locked up for a very, very long time for what he did.

I agree COMPLETELY. It's an extremely legal thing that the doctor was doing. Whether or not you agree is a different story. If anything, the doctor was doing the lesser of the two evils(Doctor breaking "god's law," v shooter breaking "god's law," AND the REAL law). I hope he get's what he deserves.
