A young female moose, or cow, has been on the loose northwest of Boston, trotting through leafy suburbs and leading police on a merry chase.
The moose was spotted Thursday on the Wilmington-Woburn town line near a Target store. She then reappeared Friday about 10 a.m. running through Woburn's Garden Court to Mishwam Road and the Route 128-Washington Street highway ramp, and behind the Veterans School.
Woburn, state and environmental police chased the youngster to no avail. They said if she poses a threat to herself or others they will shoot her with a tranquilizer gun and get her to a safer area.
She ducked back into some woods and they said if she doesn't bother anyone, they won't bother her.
i dont think athorities need to persue in captureing her quite yet. I think they should create some kind of documentary of how the moose, or cow uses servival skills, adapting to his or her surroundings.
let it be! if it starts attacking people or breaking things then sure..get it and move it somewhere else..but leave it alone and dont hurt it! (i hate when animals get hurt for no reason) its horrible.
like they said, if the moose isnt harming anyone or anyone's property, and if people arent harrassing it, then it should be free to roam around wherever. it was her land first.
