A MOBILE phone salesman became so obsessed with a former employee he recruited two men to kidnap her from her husband, a court heard yesterday.
Peter James Day denied the allegations, claiming instead he went on a "rescue mission" because the young woman was being held against her will by her husband and family.
Mr Day is facing trial in the New South Wales District Court having pleaded not guilty to orchestrating a break and enter to kidnap the woman. She cannot be identified for legal reasons.
Crown prosecutor Eric Balodis claimed Mr Day became infatuated "to the point of obsession" after meeting the woman in 2002, when she worked for him in Sydney's west.
The woman told the court she moved into a unit rented for her by Mr Day - while working for him - but she had repeatedly denied his requests to become "more than friends".
The trial continues.

I dont think he actually got to her, the men he hired just failed at kidnapping.
REALLY????? she was being "held against her will by her husband and family" ?????? Day is obviously crazY. he has got a little somethin goin on in his head. something WERID! HE is the obsessive one!
A little clingy for sure. I can't believe he thought he could going to get away with it by pleading 'not guilty'!
