Romanian immigrant who raped woman so he could get English lessons in brother's prison is jailed indefinitely

Daily Mail Reporter- April 3, 2009

·A Romanian immigrant who brutally raped a woman on a railway station so he could be sent to prison for a bed, food and English lessons at the same jail as his brother had his wish granted

·He punched, kicked and dragged his 21-year-old victim along the ground as she waited for a train home after seeing friends

·He then stole her mobile phone, purse and a bracelet before fleeing. When he was caught five days later he admitted his guilt and claimed he did it so he would end up in jail.

·Hours before the attack Majlat had tried to visit his brother in Wakefield prison where he is serving a jail term for rape and attempted murder. However, he was turned away because he did not have the correct paperwork

·The 35-year-old later told police that he attacked the girl in the hope he would be sent to the same prison as his brother

Pretty ridiculous.
Do you think they should give him what he "wanted" for commited this extremely horrible and serious crime???
What should be done with someone under these circumstances?

I think that's ridiculous that he gets exactly what he wanted...that poor woman.
But I don't know another way of punishing him.
I guess they could deport him

Pretty selfish in my opinion, they should just sentence him to what he did though the law shouldn't change to circumstances, but thats is still pretty ridiculous.

he should be thrown out of the country ...this is horrible. He should be punished, they shouldn't give a criminal what he wanted....that's intolerable.

I would say to not put him in jail to punish him since he wanted to go.  but he may become a threat if he keeps trying to get in jail.  But come on bud, you can get english lessons anywhere!

i agree he should be deported, because this is so dumb how he did this horrible thing just to get put in jail with his brother and to have somewhere to stay at and get english lessons he shold get deported

How about solitary confinement:

No Brother

No English lessons

But he gets food and a bed.

deport. for sure. you cant have your cake and eat it too homeboy. just send him away to another prision or something. because yes he should be punished. just not how he wants it.

but what he did to that women is horrible. :(

he should probably be sent to a different jail.

They should deport him and then ask his brother if he'd like to join him. This guy could have just stolen a bike or commited some other "harmless" crime. I'm not sure why he chose to assault and rape someone unless he's simply lying about wanting to end up in jail.

call me crazy, but in a way sorta feel sorry for the guy.. Its kinda like in movies where you want the bad guys to win .. like in oceans 11. But im sure if i heard the story from the rape victims point of view i would want him to get deported

I think deporting him would be the best punishment but at least a different prison would be better than where his is now...giving him what he wants is just going to show other people that they can get away with the same thing.

Maybe they should send him to a prison in South America. He'll never learn English and he'll never get a bed.

I think he's crazy instead of giving him what he wanted they should have sent him to a crazy hospital or give him the death penalty.
