Hmmmm... well if someone was firing an AK-47 at me I would just say "Well wait just a minute seh! That there is a gun, and looks like yer-a-shootin' at me!" and he would stop and explain just why he was shooting at me and accept that he was violating parole and must be arrested. But OH EM GEE this isn't Cupcake Rainbow Sprinkleville! It is an officer's right to defend themself against a threat on their life, and I would say being shot at with a rife that should not even be posessed by a citizen in the U.S. qualifies as a threat. Good job Lovelle Mixon, i've seen a more worthy martyr in a coil behind my dog.

This guy shouldve been sentence to life in prison he obviously doesnt have any sense of right and wrong.. Its sad that these people want to associate themselves with a man who has done such horribel things to society. I want to know what good they see in this man who raped a 12 year old and killed 4 cops and why they would want to associate those traits to being a True Black Man.

I don't know what story they've heard but this guy is definantaly a killer. I don't see how any of that information can be skewed that much.

It is these people of the Uhuru movement are trying to cause controversy, if they didnt want controversy it wouldnt be there. its not the fact of skin its the fact of what happened. what the guy did was wrong...and he should be punished. killed. whatever. color has nothing to do with it.

i saw in the newspapers the candle light vigil for mixon and i was thinking why are they mourning this psychotic killer and not the guys who died trying to stop him? Mixon definnitely deserved to die and all those ministers who say he was killed by racist police and that he is a martyr for blacks are just ignorant, trouble causers.

I think the police was just doing their job. Since Mixon was armed and fired at them, the police had the right to fire back. Mixon is a criminal and the cops were trying to catch him. I also think that the international people's democratic uhuru movement was trying to start a controversy. If it was any other person of any other race i think the police would act the same way. Our country has come a long way in the term of racism and justice for minorities is there. However, I don't doubt that there isn't racists in our country anymore. But based on the fact the bottom line is that the police were doing their job.

They're absolutely crazy. I mean yes, they have reason to be angry still...plentyyyyy of black people are STILL upset about slavery, but that was 200+ years ago; and we can't forget the Rodney King beating. And it's unfortunate that he died, but really what did they think was going to happen after he killed 4 police officers?! I mean, yes, they have a reason to be angry, but they are definitely taking it toooo far.
These people are trying to find excuses to be angry and to get attention.

Absolutely. We're progressing so much as a nation, but I don't understand why they can't be proud of it. They have to bring it down and increase stereotypes that minorities have worked so hard to disprove.

It's not fair for the entire race to be stereotyped again just because these people aren't living in the 21st century.
And for the record, that guy got what he deserved.
After killing 4 police officers, he would have immediately gotten the death sentence, so in my opinion, him getting killed is a lottttt better than waiting to die.
I don't know if any of this makes sense?

the fact that he killed and raped people should tell you that he isn't a hero. it's sad, and stupid, that people are actually looking up to someone who did such horrid things as a "hero"! if i were a police, i probably shoot back at him. i mean come on, police are just people who have been trained in certain areas to do certain things. i think any human being in their right mind would try to fight back if someone was shooting at them. really, i think they are just trying to start trouble. i don't think that the police wouldn't have shot back at him if he was white. that's dumb to even think that.

i think the cops did exactly what they needed to do and that was put Mixon before he hurt any more people. i mean the cops had no where to hide, an AK-47 will shoot clean through a car door and right out the other side so they didnt have the luxery of waiting for him to run out of ammo. i know that if i was a cop in a situation where someone pulled out an AK-47 i would shoot to kill cause once they start firing its game over.
