Harold Scheidemann, 48, is facing charges of grand theft auto and auto burglary after police said he stole the unmarked FBI car from a mechanic's shop in Tampa.
The car was found Tuesday night, when a police officer spotted the missing Grand Prix. Police said Scheidemann parked the car at a home on North Altman Street in Tampa. The officer stopped the suspect as he walked to the front door and asked him about the car, the report said.
Police said Scheidemann denied stealing the car. Then he said, "I'm just here to buy crack cocaine," the report said.
The car was taken to the Tampa Police Department's impound lot.
