What economic crisis?

I agree with you about the reality check but I must disagree at one point. If the government is going to help them out and pick them up then how on earth is this going to teach them anything?

i just came back from germany so believe me i have been out of OC. people have it worse their and manage better. their unemployment rate has been consistently higher than that of the US for decades and people are still happy and it doesnt get talked about all day on the news. just because you have to sell your Escalade or whatever doesnt mean you cant survive and live a happy life

They are starting tent camps over the country such as Sacremento, Nashville, and other parts of the country because so many people have been losing their houses!

Look at Germany's population rate? Look at their immigration rates, look at ours. If we could employ all 150 million adults of our 300 million population, then awesome. Oh wait up, Germany's population is 82 million. of course smaller countries are going to have smaller unemployed rates than us.

well that is up to the people them selves.the governments job is basically to supply structure and aid to its citizens and not to judge life decisions

I agree with u on the reality check thing jaymie, but I must also agree with Jason, we do live in the OC, and many people here are totally oblivious to the fact that the economy is in trouble, but not every place is like this. IN some other places, there really is a CRISIS, people are living on the streets and not being able to get a job, I thank God everyday that I don't have to live like that, but just because it isn't a crisis in good neighborhoods like this does not mean that it's not a crisis in other places.

Its a Crisis, maybe not here... maybe not even in the U.S... but its effecting everyone!! So the countries and people that dont have luxuries to get rid off like we do are ultimately in a world of hurt.. So it may not be a Crisis here but it defffff. is in a lot of other places

i dont feel bad for people that have to check their ego and lose some luxuries. if everyone is still surviving i dont see the big crisis. you have heard it a million times that material things dont make you happy. at leats not truly happy. so what is important? family? life? of course... just think about it. its a different view point, im not trying to attack anyone or put anyone down but take a step back and contemplate what this life is about ok?

I think the point he is trying to make is that for the most part this whole crisis is being blown out of proportion. This is not the worst economic time since the great depression. The on in the late 70's early 80's was much much worse. The unemployment was almost double. Export ands imports were even lower. Our Gdp was sunk even more.

I also believe he is saying that for the most part there are some hard working people getting hurt by this but it's also some of those people along with corrupt politicians and buisnessmen that caused this.

There might not be a huge deadly crisis right now, but you can't doubt that there is definitely something going on. And if we don't do something to stop it now, it could get worse. sure some of us may not be able to afford luxury items and such but if no action is taken, we might not be able to afford basic needs. And I very much agree that in other cities, it is way worse than in the OC. It's hard to imagine what's it like for those who are affected by this "crisis".

i dont think everyone is understanding where im coming from but basically even though people lose their jobs and money is tighter, it is still possible to be happy and to enjoy life. this is not the end of the world like the news makes it out to be. That is what i was trying to say. my dad lost his job back in november and so i know first hand what it is like to have your household income cut in half.

I understand what Jaymie is saying, completely. I think that it IS hard for the people who have to sell everything they have and it is hard for the people who have to realize that their comfotable lives are going away. But what Jaymie is trying to say is all of these Americans dont realize that on other sides of the world, people didnt have those kinds of things in the first place. I dont think he is being insensative, I think Jaymie is being EXTREMELY sensative to the children in africa who have eaten nothing more than bread and rice all of their lives.

We are all suffering with difficult changes in the economy, losing money, along with others loosing their homes and luxeries. Through these hard times i've come to appreciate what my family I have. Maybe by realizing what we'll all blessed with, having roofs over our heads and food to eat we can all stop and appreciate the things we have in life for survival.

well i agree because yeah we might be going through some rough times but were not to the point were people are losing everything....some people do loose their jobs but they still manage to live and were just not able to get what we want when we want it thats about it

dude, jaymie, right on. i agree with you totally. since there won't be as much plastic surgery or new cars, or other useless material things gracing yorba linda for a while, it doesn't mean it's all doom and gloom. lets stay positive and be thankful for the things we do have.

The economic crisis has not really hit us in OC as hard as it has hit other countries. I think that it is a crisis.
