The "Sajil" Missle has been successfully tested as of Wednesday. It is a new generation of surface to surface missles with a range of about 1200 miles which could easily reach Israel and possibly some of southeastern Europe.
The US has publicly denounced the testing of missles and as US NAtional Security Council Spokesperson Gordon Johndroe says "The Iranian Regime only furthers the isolation of the Iranian people from the international community...Iran should also refrain from further missle tests if they truly seek to gain the trust of the world."
Although the Iranians still claim that the tests are based on peacful means, should they stop testing just to appease the rest of the world?
How do you think the US should react to this testing?
i do believe that iran should stop testing missiles, i understand it is necessary to have some deffense, but i don't believe it is really necessary to be furthering these high tech missiles. I believe the US is right to give them a slap on the wrist for testing the missiles, but if these tests continue i believe it will be necessary for the UN to get involved.
They should stop testing, but they probably won't. Its all saber rattling. Iran does not have the trust of the rest of the world and if they want that respect it would be wise to cool off with the "big red button" for awhile. As far as the U.S., we do not have the military power to march in there and take over. We could always "bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb Iran", but that will do absolutely no good. And it would start a conflict beyond our control. I do think the Iranian government is dangerous. But the U.S. does not have the power to do anything that would end well for anyone.
I find the fact they are testing missles uncomforting. We as the U.S. don't have a right to tell them to stop, but I think it would make things better if they did
i think they should stop the testing til' we are done with the war, because i think it is making everyone a little more on edge, and i think it is causing more tension.
well it seems like they've violated their obligations under "United Nations Security Council resolutions" im not too sure what that is but if they violated it, Its gotta be recognized and I think its fine if a country needs to defend themselves but thats a pretty intense missile so we should take some precaution as well.
i believe that even if irans intensions are peaceful with the testing, that they should wait until there is more stability in the region. It spreads the spotlight on them that may be un-needed and unwanted. Makes them look very suspicious. Although...missile testing and peace really dont make sense in the first place....
I don't like, but there is nothing we can or should do. Let's just see how it plays out. If they attack our allies, bring down the hammer of God on them.
