Barack Obama has announced that he does not plan to pull any troops from Iraq immediately upon his inauguration. The Iraqi leaders are confident that no hasty US withdrawal is imminent.
Do you think that Obama should start pulling troops immediately after his inauguration or have a gradual withdrawal over a set period of time from Iraq?

that sounds like the same thing to me "start pulling troops=gradual withdrawal" unless i am mistaken... he will definitely not be sending more though right? someone please respond to this with an answer haha
He isn't sending more. And I am all for getting out. But it would be irresponsible, and not all that plausible, to get out in a matter of hours. As long as we are out within the year and people don't need to keep losing their lives, I am content.
I thought he promised to take them out with in the first 16 months of him coming into office... Unless I am mistaken? But I think a gradual pullout is necessary
a gradual withdrawl over a set period of time from iraq is the best option. as much as we need to get out of there already, it will only cause more problems if it is immediate.
yea.. i thought he promised he would take them out within 16 months... but even if he gets them out gradually ASAP then its better then just leaving them there.. at least he will do something to get them back home :)
well i dont think he should immediatly rush into action, that might cause more problems somewhere else. hes fine not making any rash actions, after all he just became president
