In South Africa former president Thabo Mbeki released a letter stating his grievances with current ruling party leader Jacob Zuma. In the letter he refuted rumors that he would be campaigning for the ANC in 2009 and that he would be made into a cult personality. The party has only ever formed a cult personality around one person, Nelson Mandela, to bring the country together.

Do you think that when a country is in disarray it would be a good idea to create a "cult personality" to bring it together. Do we have any unspoken cult personalties here?

i think that it may not be the best way, but whatever it takes for a country to unite under one banner and stop the fight for power is a valid way for a country to be led
