The countries of Pakistan and India have been at odds for a very long time, they have been through three wars with one another and many other political and social battles. The tides may be changing though, as Pakistan focuses more on fixing it's economy and less on fighting with India. President Asif Ali Zardari wants peace but, his country, paricularly the army, does not agree with his sentiments. http://blogs.reuters.com/pakistan/2008/10/08/does-the-salvation-of-pakistans-economy-lie-in-india/
Is peace possible for Pakistan and India? Or will the military force tensions to remain high?
i think that peace would be GREAT, but with a tradition of feuding, its gonna be next to impossible to convince India and Pakistan, several million people, to just stop being mad, and live in peace...
i think it's going to be hard to reason with one another because of their long history of feuding. but even if it's a long shot, both countries need to try to achieve peace.
As much as peace is wanted and needed in this area, i believe peace will only come when the country's have homeland issues such as their economy where they cannot afford to be at war, but unfortunatly i believe that as soon as they get back on their feet they will again begin fighting, that part of the world is so unstable.
i believe this is a very far fetched goal, and will be hard to accomplish, however it may be possible while their economies are down as zach has stated. but even with this i believe this is going to be very challenging arrangment
