i thought that both candidates started slowly with getting their points out there but further into the debate they both found their ground and spoke very well. i feel that obama did slightly better in this debate being that he seem absolutly confident in what he said, although alot of the time he just name things and said what they should do without substancial fact behind it, on the other hand McCain seem a bit less comfortable and was a lil all over the place, but when he did get to an idea he used fact and reasoning to support it. Overall i think Obama oust McCain in round one just slightly due to his presence and confidence at the podium
obama blew mccain away. probably because he is an amazing speaker. mccain made alot more sense with his thoughts on iraq. oh and mccain seems weak. he wouldnt make eye contact with obama at all.
I basically agree with Kody. I don't think there was a clear winner. And I don't think McCain's thoughts on Iraq made sense, but that could be total bias. Obama is the better speaker and clearly affected the public if you check out the polls.
i thought that obama did a better job of presenting himself as the next president much better than mccain
in that he seemed to have much more confidence in his beliefs and that they would make this country a better place mccain just came off as a bit condescending and weak
for example how he wouldnt look at obama in the eyes and how he would constatnly say "senator obama just doesnt seem to understand".
nonetheless i felt like both candidates presented themselves well and i look forward to the vp debate

i think obama was very well versed and mature about thesituation, mccain took more of a grandpa stance. i thought it was a bit unprofessional how he never looked obama in the eye, and seemed a little intimidated. but i dont like the fact that obama kept "agreeing" with mccain. i thought he could've handled that better. the debate really wasn't worth the hype but i'm looking forward to thursday :)
